Dr. Galperin is a nationally recognized expert in hydrocarbon fingerprinting and has more than 25 years of experience in environmental geochemistry. Dr. Galperin developed analytical methods for forensic investigations, directed and conducted chemical analyses on a wide variety of matrices, and supervised all aspects of an environmental testing laboratory. In his current role, Dr. Galperin provides technical direction to multiple environmental forensic projects, conducts data evaluation and interpretation, and provides technical and litigation support to clients. Dr. Galperin designed, implemented, managed, and audited hydrocarbon-fingerprinting projects for government and industry concerning complex petroleum contamination issues in soil and groundwater systems. His project support activities include development and application of analytical methods for hydrocarbon fuel identification, analysis of organic priority pollutants, analytical data interpretation and site assessment. Dr. Galperin also provides consulting and expert testimony services in litigation involving environmental forensics issues.

Dr. Galperin is a highly trained chemist utilizing a wide variety of methodologies accepted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). As a laboratory manager for the United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC) program in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Galperin established a state-of-the-art analytical laboratory and directed its in-country activities in support of the UNCC Monitoring and Assessment Studies. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on analyses, identification, fate and transport of petroleum hydrocarbons in subsurface environment. Dr. Galperin teaches hydrocarbon fingerprinting courses, conducts workshops, and provides training in environmental geochemistry. Dr. Galperin currently serves as an editorial board member in the Journal of Environmental Forensics.
